Welcome to my creative world…

Walk Your Path

The Freedom in Following Excitement

I love the simplicity of following my excitement. It’s the only thing I need to do, and in that simplicity, I find freedom. There’s no fear of being wrong, no anxiety about missing the point. When I follow my excitement, things feel right. I want to do them. It’s effortless. Waking up at 5 a.m., feeling the crisp morning air against my skin, wrapping my fingers around the warmth of my tea, and hearing the quiet hum of the world awakening, it isn’t a struggle. Even when I’m tired, I rise with a longing for these mornings, where everything aligns perfectly. Perhaps it’s a touch of perfectionism, but it’s also about honoring what makes me shine.

Writing a novel is the same. The words come in silence, not sought, just arriving without reason. My fingers glide over the keyboard, feeling the cool surface beneath them, typing whatever wants to be expressed in that moment. It feels natural, like a river flowing without hesitation. The ego doesn’t need to understand when the soul is speaking; it simply needs to step aside and trust. When writing feels forced, when a scene resists me, I know it’s not the right path. I let it go and find the easier way, the path of least resistance, as Abraham Hicks would say.

I see this in my children too. My little one stands in front of the table, knowing he could walk around it, yet he climbs over it instead. Why? Because the thrill of climbing outweighs the logic of going around. His tiny hands grip the edge, his determined breath quickens, and the spark in his eyes says it all. He follows his excitement without hesitation. We’re born with this instinct to explore freely, without expectations. But over time, we’re taught to weigh consequences, to choose the safe route. Slowly, we lose that innate trust in our own excitement.

Living in the flow means surrendering. In writing, in life, allowing the words to come, listening to them, trusting their arrival. It’s about feeling in my gut when something is right and following it, even when I don’t know where it will lead. Writing is a journey, not a destination. The words don’t follow a logical path, but they always find their way, like whispers guiding me home. The certainty grows when I embrace my uniqueness, accepting that being misunderstood is part of the experience I chose.

I am a writer, a creator, exactly as I am meant to be. My expansion is limitless. I write not to control the outcome, but to express, to align, to become. The words call to me, and I listen. I let them flow all day without worrying where they will take me.

Follow your excitement. It’s clear, it’s simple. And it’s everything.
